Education and Background

Mr. Patterson was born in Taylor, Texas in 1943.  He received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia in 1967 and his Juris Doctor from the University of Texas in 1970.  After law school, he served as a Clerk to Waldo Spies, Chief Judge of the New Mexico Court of Appeals, from 1970-1971.

Consultant, New Mexico Legislative Council Service on Condominium Law (1980-1981).

Mr. Patterson serves as a member of the State Bar of New Mexico Committee on Lawyers' Opinions in Mortgage Loan Transactions. In his spare time, he engages in diverse pursuits including hunting, gourmet cooking, diving at remote ocean retreats, military history, and American Indian arts, history and ceremonies.
